Terminator Survivors, a survival action game from Nacon, has been indefinitely delayed.
The last we heard was that the game was planned for release in 2025, but seeing as there's about two weeks to go, that's not happening.
In a statement on the game's Steam page, developer Nacon Studio Milan announces the delay, with no new date in sight.
"We don't have a new date locked in, but we'll let you know when we're ready to share a new release date," it reads. "We’ve also had to overhaul our release plans, instead of launching in early access, we want your first steps into the wasteland to be a complete and polished experience."
In addition to this news about the delay, the post highlights a major change to the game — it will be a single player experience only, with no co-op multiplayer, as was previously announced.
"After months of internal testing, discussions with players and fans of the license, we came to the conclusion that to give you an authentic “Terminator” experience with the best possible shooting and exploration gameplay, we would have to put aside the cooperative multiplayer," the statement says. "We know this may come as a disappointment, but we believe it is the right creative direction for an uncompromising vision of the world after Judgment Day."

"We know expectations are high, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. For now, I can only thank you for sticking with us as we do our absolute best to create a game worthy of the Terminator legacy. We’ll be back with more news as soon as we can."
So, it's all change for Terminator Survivors, which will now be a solo survival shooter. When it's likely to release is anyone's guess, but hopefully it isn't too far away.

Terminated 🥴 I hope they’ll be back
So he won't be back...
A multiplayer game in the Terminator world, in the style of Arc Raiders, with battles against AI/robots etc, seems more relavant now than ever.. would be cool.
This is only going one way by the looks of it 🤣
Incredibly disappointing that they’re dropping the multiplayer aspect. Not sure that I’m all that interested any longer, but I’ll save final judgment for the next trailer.
Asta la vista baby.
On a serious note hope no one loses their job.
I'm not a game developer, but imagine if this was say a restaurant, and after waiting at your table 2 hours the waiter says "due to creative and /or various issues, the chef would like me to inform you that your dinner will not be served."
Obviously, there is a difference in scale, but at a basic level, isn't it their job to just crank out a Terminator?
Great news that they are binning the multiplayer aspect! Nothing more tedious.
Oof, removing co-op sucks. I can see that being a big sticking point for lots of people tbh... Especially if the game itself isn't the greatest / suffers from some of the usual survival game jank. It's much easier to overlook said jank when playing with friends, not so much when you're playing alone.
Good news they scratched multiplayer. Now it starts to be interesting.
A co-op survival game set in the Terminator universe seems like a sure fire hit to me. Shame.
I’ll Be Back…
Haha.
It's going to be fine y'all. These devs are so passionate about this IP. Solo is the way to go, it almost always makes the narrative and immersion so much better - only Baldur's Gate 3 can maybe challenge that opinion. Arc Raiders will suffice for co-op and multiplayer as it's a very similar universe.
@16BitHero so you would say that arc raiders is better/more fun solo than co-op?
@Killionaire I enjoy Arc Raiders with a friend or two but solo is usually less frantic and more friendly from a PVP perspective. Strangers can be kind. It really reminds me of the 'future' in Terminator. Humans could stick together or not... I like the world they've built but I think a good solo only narrative experience is what I want from an open world Terminator survival game. Just my opinion though!
@16BitHero I prefer co-op in most games. But good explanation
